XIA-A Metal Mech Model Kit, 1,300+ Pieces with Articulated Joints

The XIA-A: 3.5 Kilos of Assembled Metal

This mech kit builds from 1300+ stainless steel and copper components into a 26cm figure that weighs a full 3500g when finished. Nothing about it is glued. Every connection uses screws and rods, so the build feels like real machine assembly — and takes about 20 hours to complete.

The Glow That Names It

Fluid pipes run through the mech's thick boom arm. Dim the room lights and those energy lines shine an eerie green — builders call the effect the "poisonous dragon dance." It turns the finished model into a low-light display piece, not just a daytime shelf object.

Design Details

• Glowing energy lines — pipes carry the green-glow fluid through the boom
• Three vector-thrust nozzles — precision-built, hinting at the machine's propulsion
• Shrimp-style abdomen — layered armor plates borrowed from nature's own segmented shell
• Golden nail plates — bright accents that catch light against the steel
• Full articulation — the joints pose freely, so the display never has to stay the same

The 20-Hour Build

Twenty hours sounds like a lot; spread over a couple of weekends, it becomes the point. The difficulty sits at moderate — demanding enough to hold your attention, not so hard that it stalls. It works as a solo project or as one you pass tools back and forth on with family.
