Turn It Over. Watch the Math Happen.

Flip this board and roughly 3,000 steel beads rain down through a triangular field of pins. Each bead bounces left or right at random. By the time they settle in the bins below, they have drawn a bell curve — the same shape, run after run. That is the central limit theorem, sitting on your desk.

What Makes It a Teaching Tool

  • A live normal distribution. Every flip sends the beads through the pin grid again. The stack that forms in the bins is a fresh binomial distribution, built one bead at a time.
  • The theory is printed right on the face. The clear acrylic panel carries the standard deviation formula, Pascal's triangle, and the binomial theorem, so you can point from the falling beads to the math behind them.
  • Predicted vs. observed. The bins along the bottom are labeled with the expected percentages. Students can check how closely each run matches the theoretical curve — and see that no two runs are identical.
  • No setup between runs. The weighted stand holds the board upright and lets you flip it end over end. That one motion resets the beads for the next demonstration.

Classroom Aid by Day, Desk Piece Always

At 7.5 by 10.5 inches, it fits on a lectern or an office desk. The fully transparent body lets you follow individual beads on their way down, and the printed curve overlay shows how they pile up around the mean. It suits math teachers walking a class through the central limit theorem, and it suits data scientists, engineers, and statistics students who simply like having probability made visible within arm's reach.

Customer reviews

  • Jason S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

It works well and demonstrates the concept clearly. The acrylic has a slight tint to it rather than being perfectly crystal clear. Functional and educational but not flawless.

  • Sophia S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Nice concept and decent build. The bell curve does form as advertised. I just expected it to be a bit bigger based on the photos. Still a cool desk accessory though.

  • Sarah S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Solid build quality and the beads cascade smoothly. The display stand could be a touch more stable on uneven surfaces but works fine on a flat desk. Recommended.

  • Viktor S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

The size is large and looks impressive when displayed. Some adjustments can be made to the counterweight for easier reversal.

  • Harper S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Love the concept and execution. The bell curve forms nicely every time. Would give 5 stars but I think it could be slightly larger for classroom demonstrations where students sit far away.

  • Amelia S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Great product and looks amazing on my desk. Took a couple days to arrive but the packaging was secure and nothing was damaged. Very satisfied.

  • Daniel S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

The sound it makes is oddly calming. Flip it over, listen to the gentle clicking of beads against pins, watch the curve form. Better than any fidget toy.

  • Thomas S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Really nice quality overall. Only minor thing is I wish the instruction booklet went deeper into the math concepts. But the board itself is excellent and works perfectly.

  • Robert S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Clear acrylic, solid base, smooth bead flow. Everything about this product says quality. Very happy with my purchase.

  • Marcus S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Office conversations have improved significantly since I put this on my desk. People stop by just to flip it and we end up having great chats.

  • Olivia S.Verified buyer
    ★★★★★

Using it to teach my grandchildren about probability. They love watching the beads and asking questions. Educational toys like this are rare and valuable.

Perfect birthday gift for anyone who appreciates science or math. One of those things you never knew you needed until you have it.
